Educated at New Jersey City University, Richard La Rovere holds a B.F.A. in commercial art. He is a professional freelance artist whose clients include real estate agencies, various corporations, stores, restaurants and private citizens as well. His client list includes Brown Harris Stevens and Stribling Associates. Archway Press, New York: Terrace Realty located in Queens, New York and Manhattan Buildings in Hoboken, NJ. Other clients include The African - American Historical Society Museum in Jersey City, NJ. The Newark Landmark Commission of Newark, including other private parties has collected La Rovere's art.

He is a member of the Hudson Artists of New Jersey, Inc., and the Upstairs Art Gallery in Jersey City. His art is in the collection of the Jersey City Museum, the Community Development Corporation, the Newark and Jersey City Public Libraries along with the NJ Transit Corporation.

Finding inspiration from both the natural and the man made, La Rovere deftly interprets the beauty of flowers, trees and water in his garden landscapes, done in both oil and acrylic. His talent extends itself to sensitive renditions of architecture and the urban scene, executed in pen and ink and watercolor. His love for old buildings and landmarks sprang from his sketching in pencil on the street as a teenager. This led to the more refined technique that we see today.

Richard La Rovere firmly believes that his art is the result of practice and hard work and that people are not just born with this skill. It is to this end that he labors daily to perfect his already unique style.

Richard La Rovere may be reached by phone at 201-659-0662.
