Mayor Bret Schundler and Commissioner Jack Terhune to Announce the Department of Correction's Route 440 Revitalization Median Project

Jersey City
On Friday, April 7, at 8:00 a.m., Mayor Bret Schundler and Commissioner Jack Terhune will announce the Department of Correction's program to improve the median of Rt. 440 from Danforth Avenue to Communipaw Avenue, starting April 11, 2000. The improvements will consist of removing litter and existing shrubbery and replacement of new greenery and urban flower beds.

This community service project will be a combined effort on behalf of the Department of Corrections and the Jersey City Department of Public Works.

Mayor Schundler stated, "It is great to have Jersey City and the Department of Corrections partner in a program that will beautify the most heavily traveled road way in Jersey City." This project is indicative of the continuing improvement to Route 440.
