Mayor Schundler Proclaims April 10th - 15th
"Week of the Young Child"

Jersey City
Mayor Bret Schundler, together with the Public Schools of Jersey City and the National Association for the Education of Young Children, will proclaim April 10 to 15 the "Week of the Young Child." Students from grade schools throughout Jersey City will participate in a program in the Council Chambers to celebrate this event on Monday, April 10th, at 10:30 a.m.

The Jersey City Public Schools Early Childhood Program has been designed to provide developmentally appropriate experiences in the Pre-K and primary classrooms. The faculty and staff have worked hard to establish a learning environment that fosters each individual child's physical, social, linguistic and intellectual development.

"I urge all residents to recognize the dedicated efforts of all the primary grade teachers and teachers' aides who help to shape the development of our most valuable resource, our children," said Mayor Bret Schundler.
